Microdermabrasion All you need to know.

What is Microdermabrasion:

It is a skin-revitalizing treatment that helps repair skin that is damaged from the sun, scars, acne and the unwanted effects of aging. I am an RN with advanced training specializing in DiamondTome Microexfoliation using a Crystal Free System.

Microdermabrasion is a simple, non-invasive procedure performed by a licensed individual. Using the crystal free DiamondTome wands, which are painless and effective, eliminates the risk of traditional Microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion reduces the signs of minor to moderate early aging fine lines and sun damaged skin. It extracts blackheads and whiteheads and reduces acne scars. It decreases hyperpigmentation as well as age spots while rejuvenating the overall skin health.

Who is it for:

People might choose to get the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • age spots and brown spots
  • enlarged pores and blackheads
  • acne and acne scars
  • stretch marks
  • dull-looking skin complexion
  • uneven skin tone and texture
  • melasma
  • sun damage

Pre-Treatment Instructions:

Avoid sun exposure, tanning creams, and waxing for about a week before treatment. Stop using exfoliating creams and masks approximately 3 days prior to treatment.Remove any makeup and cleanse your face before the procedure begins.

Post-Treatment Care:

There is little to no downtime after microdermabrasion. You should be able to resume your daily activities immediately.

Keep your skin hydrated and use gentle skin care products. Avoid using topical acne medications for at least one day after treatment. It’s extremely important to protect your skin with sunscreen. Your skin can be more sensitive to the sun in the few weeks after the treatment.

What To Expect:

How will I look after the treatment?

Your skin may look slightly flushed immediately after the treatment but I use a special cooling gel/seaweed mask after the treatment so your skin returns to normal in approximately 30 minutes. Your skin will look and feel smoother even after the first treatment.
You can expect to see noticeable results immediately after the procedure. The number of microdermabrasion sessions needed will depend on the severity of your skin concerns as well as your expectations

How long will it take to see results?

While you may see visible results after the first treatment, lasting and more significant results will occur after 6-8 treatments spaced two weeks apart with a maintenance treatment every two to three months.

Can I return to my normal activities?

Yes, however, it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 3 days after your treatment. A sunscreen is essential to use afterwards since exfoliated skin has temporarily lost some of its natural protection to the environment.

How can I maintain longer results?

Cosmeceutical products are available directly to you after your treatment. I am currently a distributor for A-Cute Derm, SkinMedica, and Glo-Therapeutics. Research and principles of wound healing and tissue regeneration led to the development of many of these products. These products help replenish essential nutrients for over-stressed or damaged skin caused by UV Radiation and skincare treatments such as Microdermabrasion.

“I love going to Monumental MedSpa! All the staff are so friendly and Trina is great! I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin and (lack of) wrinkles since first going there in 2021.”
